What is Rentalic?
Rentalic is a Website that facilitates person to person renting among friends, family, and communities. You can list items your own or services you can provide for FREE on the site or you can find and rent items or services you need. Rentalic enables people to make money and save money while promoting a greener lifestyle through reuse!
How does Rentalic work?
At Rentalic, we have "Owners" and "Borrowers". Owners list items and services for rent while Borrowers can search for items and services they need and rent them.
Once a Borrower locates an item, Rentalic provides tools to:* Reserve an Item
* Contact the Owner
* Finalize details of the rental transaction
* Arrange for delivery or pick-up of the item from the owner
* Provide feedback for the item, owner, and borrower at the end of the rental process

Is it free to register with Rentalic?
Yes. Registration is absolutely “FREE”. As a registered member, you can list your items on the Web Site for FREE and you can search for available items or services near your location for FREE!
Is Rentalic mainly a rental marketplace?
Rentalic is more than a marketplace; it’s a community that reflects the many facets of our neighborhoods and its individuals. At Rentalic you can meet your neighbors and maybe even make new friends along the way.
What are the general terms of use?

What is the "Beta Period" and how can I become a member during beta period?
The Beta Period is a pre-release version of the production site. The Rentalic Web Site is open to the general public for registration.
How does Rentalic know the transaction is taking place?
When the borrower meets with the owner to retrieve the item or service, the borrower is given an authentic secret code from Rentalic. The owner will input the secret code on Rentalic to initiate the transaction, which allows the fund to be deposited into his account. This unique code will inform Rentalic that the transaction is taking place.
How can I contact Rentalic?
On the left border of every page of the Web site, there is a "Feedback" button that can be clicked to send feedback. For other methods of contacting us, please refer to the "Contact Us" page, which is linked on the header and the footer of every page.
I forgot my user name and password. What do I do?
Under the Sign In menu, you can choose “Sign in with Rentalic” to log on to the Web site or change your password. Your user name is the email address you registered with Rentalic. After entering your user name, click on the link for “Forgot Password”. Once clicked, a notification with instructions will be sent to your registered email address.
What personal information do I disclose to Rentalic?
The only personal information Rentalic requires from you is your name, location, and email address. However, to build your reputation on Rentalic and gain the trust of potential owners/borrowers, you are encouraged to provide additional optional information on the "My Profile" page.
Owners
What can I list?
You can list any item you own or a service you can provide. Items and services should be transactional and must abide by the requirements of Rentalic's "Terms of Use", "Rental Policy", "Prohibited Items Policy", and other terms and conditions listed on the Web Site, as well as Federal, State and local laws. Rentalic Inc. is NOT responsible for any consequences resulting from the listing of unlawful items and services.
Can I list items or services for only certain days and block certain days?
Yes. You have complete control over the days you make your item or service available. At the time of the listing of an item or service, you can use the "Blackout Dates Calendar" feature to block days that you do not want to rent out the item or service you listed. Alternatively, if you need to add/change the blackout dates, you can use the "Edit" option to make changes.
Can the owner decide whether or not to rent to a borrower?
Yes, you have the option of renting to anyone on Rentalic or requiring pre-approval before users can rent your items/services.
How do I set my rental prices?
You have the freedom to set your own rental price for your items or services. It is recommended that the pricing of an item or service be set at a reasonable percentage its retail price to attract potential borrowers.
Can I place a security deposit for my items?
Yes. Rentalic provides you the option to request a security deposit for the items you have listed. You, the owner, will determine the value of the security deposit for your item.
Who holds the security deposit?
The security deposit will automatically be included in the total amount once the borrower reserves the item. The security deposit will be on hold via the Owner's PayPal account until the transaction is completed. The borrower will not be charged with this amount unless there is a dispute in the transaction.
What fees do I pay for using Rentalic?
Listing an item or service is FREE. The owner will be charged 5% of the total rental fee upon making a successful transaction.
What is the payment/ transaction method used by Rentalic?
At Rentalic, we use PayPal as the secure transaction method.
Do I need to have a PayPal account?
Yes, you need a PayPal account to execute rental transactions on Rentalic. Signing up for a PayPal account is quick and easy.
Do I need to give out my credit card information to Rentalic?
No. All financial transactions will take place via PayPal secure payment methods.
What happens if my items are damaged?
If items are damaged, it is the responsiblity of the owner and the borrower to negotiate the damages and reach an agreement on what percentage of the deposit should cover the damages. Rentalic is not responsible for any damages to an item(s).
I had a good rental experience. How can I rate my experience?
Rentalic require users to provide feedback after every transaction. Upon completion of a transaction, you will receive a notification to provide the other party with feedback. You can rate your experience and it will be visible on Rentalic Web site for other visitors to view. You can also rate the item you rented to provide the Rentalic community with insight on the item.
Does Rentalic Inc provide insurance?
No. Certain home owners insurance, renters insurance, or other types of insurance MAY cover your transaction. Rentalic is not responsible for insurance or verification of insurance. Owners and borrowers are responsible for researching any insurance requirements prior to renting items or services.

What can I Rent?
You can rent any item or service that is available on the Rentalic Web site. Rentalic is not responsible for any consequences resulting from renting any unlawful items or services. Please refer to Rentalic's Terms of Use, Rental Policy, Prohibited Items List and other terms and conditions listed on the Web Site for further information.
How can I find what I want?
Rentalic supports a cutting edge search platform. Our website will help you find items you need based on your location. You can use our advance search feature to expand or minimize your search criteria to find exactly the item or service you are looking for.
Can I search for an item or service within a certain distance?
Yes, you can adjust the search radius by selecting the Advanced Search option.
I found what I want, how can I secure the item or service?
Upon finding the desired item or service and agreeing to the conditions of the owner, you can follow the simple directions to pay the service fee to reserve the item or service. The owner will be notified of when you reserve an item or a service.
I can not find an item or service I want, what should I do?
Rentalic has a feature called "Request an Item" where you can post the item you are seeking in your area. Rentalic users will be able to view any item requested and can offer the item for rent.
I have a question for the owner. How can I contact the owner?
Every item posted on Rentalic lists the general information of the owner of the item. The potential borrower can contact the owner via the "Message" link on the item details page.
Who dictates delivery and return instructions?
Some owners may agree to deliver the item to you, while others may request that you pick up the item at an agreed upon location. This is usually specified by the owner at the time of the listing of the item or service. Some owners may provide additional information on the Delivery/Pickup Instructions section and/or Return Instructions section, which will be displayed on the item description page.
After reserving the item or service, I was given a Secret Code. What do I do with it?
When you receive the confirmation that you have reserved an item, you will be issued an Secret Code that must be provided to the Owner when you meet to retrieve your item.
When do I meet the Owner?
Follow the delivery/pickup instructions on the Item Description page. You can also send a message to the owner to make arrangements to have the item delivered or to pick up the item.
Who do I pay for the rental?
The rental fee will be paid to directly to the owner via PayPal.
To whom do I pay the security deposit?
The security deposit will be paid in conjunction with the rental fee through PayPal, which is linked directly to the owner of the item.
When do I pay for the rental?
At the time of making the reservation you are required to pay the total rental fee for the rental. The item rental fee and security deposit (if any) is paid directly via PayPal.
Do I have to give out my credit card information to Rentalic Inc.?
No. All financial transactions will take place via PayPal secure payment methods.
How do I get my security deposit back?
Once the item is returned to the owner and he/she leaves you feedback, PayPal will transfer the security deposit funds to your PayPal account. Rentalic is not responsible for holding and/or refunding security deposit(s).
When using the item, I caused minor damages to the item. What do I do? Do I pay for the full amount?
When you return the damaged item to the owner, you must inform the owner of the damages. It is the responsibility of both parties to reach an agreement on compensation for the damages. Rentalic assumes no liability for the damages caused to any item(s).
The item description posted on the Web site is different from what I saw when I went to pick up the item. Can I refuse the item?
Owners are expected to provide an accurate item description. If you are not satisfied with the item, you can refuse the item and inform Rentalic.
The item I rented was different from the item description posted online, but I still rented it anyway. Am I still liable for the item?
Once you take possession of the item you agree to abide by the rental terms, including payment of fees that the owner provided. Be absolutely sure to review the condition of the item and read through the rental agreement terms before you take the item.
I had a good rental experience, can I rate my experience?
Rentalic require user feedback for all transactions. Upon completion of the transaction, you will receive a request to provide feedback. You can rate your experience and it will be visible on Rentalic for other users to view.
What fees do I pay for using Rentalic?
The borrower does not pay any fees for using Rentalic. The borrower is only responsible for the Rental Transaction + Security Deposits.

What do I do if my reservation is cancelled?
You may contact the owner to inquire about the reason for canceling the reservation. Please be sure to report the issue to Rentalic as soon as possible.
Who holds my security deposit?
If the listing requires a security deposit, you will be responsible for providing the deposit to the owner, which will be refunded to you once the transaction is complete.
